Doctrinal Overview
Spriggs Road Presbyterian Church is a confessional and Reformed church. We gladly stand in the stream of historic Christian orthodoxy and seek to order our worship, doctrine, and church life according to the Scriptures.
We receive the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God, and we summarize biblical doctrine through the historic creeds of the church and the Westminster Standards.
Our theology is shaped by the Protestant Reformation and the doctrines of grace, and our aim is not novelty but faithful, joyful Christianity rooted in Christ and His Word.
Scripture and the Triune God
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, and that the one true God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Human Sin and Need
We believe all people are sinners and cannot save themselves. Apart from God’s mercy, we remain under just judgment and in need of grace.
Salvation in Christ
We believe Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, saves His people through His perfect life, atoning death, and resurrection, and that salvation is by God’s grace alone.
Covenant Life
We believe God is faithful to His people and to His covenant promises across generations, and that the Christian life is lived within the worship, fellowship, and discipleship of Christ’s church.
